When I'm asked this question, my current answer is, "Be Still Yoga is wherever I am." Since I don't have a facility, per se,
I instead hold classes and events
in a variety of locales.
My gentle chair yoga class meets on Monday mornings at 9am at the Jamestown Methodist Church. This beautiful old building sits near our county's historic square. The congregation has kindly allowed me use of a room on
the main floor to hold classes each
week as well as events from time
to time in the fellowship hall.
This mat class meets outdoors beside my home. It began due to an intense desire to offer yoga despite not having a traditional building. I decided to utilize the lovely grassy area beneath two mature trees in my yard. After two years of successful warm-weather outdoor classes in the grass, my husband and I chose this year to create a more specific space. The "yoga patio" has been a labor of love and has already been the location of several peaceful mat yoga sessions this summer. I'm looking forward to many more, especially as the seasons change to fall and cooler temperatures move in.
